As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I’ve spent the last decade working in the field of behavioral health in a variety of medical and professional settings. I completed my graduate-level training at the University of Pittsburgh and continue to serve as a field instructor for the School of Social Work and sit on the DP Community Advisory Board . My career has provided experience working with young adults to those at the end of life, and I currently provide mental health care and crisis intervention to clients in a trauma hospital in the city of Pittsburgh. While I specialize in both trauma centered and LGBTQIA++ affirmative counseling , I also work with clients facing a wider range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, grief, and crisis management. My passion for animals is also incorporated into my therapeutic process with my certified therapy dog Emma for clients that enjoy the company of a therapy animal. Additionally, clients are welcome to bring their service or emotional support animals to any and all therapy sessions. What you can expect during our therapy sessions is a personalized, collaborative approach to treatment, where we work together to uncover a new direction towards a more manageable life. My treatment approach and techniques center around your personal growth- exploring your current problems, then identifying individual strategies to implement change. My goal is not only to assist clients in overcoming their current problems, but to help clients manage those stressors more independently in the future. I accept UPMC, Highmark, United, and Cigna commercial insurance plans.
